One True Loves – Taylor Jenkins Reid

My final fiction read of our holiday to Lanzarote… One True Loves is the story of Emma Blair, who marries her high school love, Jesse. One year after their wedding, Jesse is in a tragic accident, changing everyone’s life forever.

This has been my least favourite Taylor Jenkins Reid novel. I just wasn’t feeling Emma as a protagonist. The writing at times was glib, and Emma came across as really annoying. I actually didn’t care about her by the end of the book. 🤦🏻‍♀️

It was, however, an easy and predictable read for round the pool, so it ticked that box.

I’ll chalk this one down to experience and hope that TJR’s next offering is more in keeping with the writing style I’ve grown to love… (Carrie Soto is Back- out later in August).
