This was a @barterbooksuk find and I was very excited to read it as soon as December hit. Antonia Hawkins is leading an investigation into a serial killer in the build up to Christmas. That’s all the blurb you’re getting so I can avoid any spoilers!
Did I enjoy this book? In parts, yes. There were some quite tense parts which almost scared me. I often struggle with a female protagonist being portrayed through the lens of male authors. The Advent Killer was no exception. I just didn’t believe in the lead- she was quite two dimensional. I also guessed the “twist” quite early doors, which is never good for a thriller.
Overall, a decent way to pass the time but not a favourite.
⭐️⭐️ from me.
