I was delighted when this was in my bag of books from my Secret Santa at work. It was going to be my go-to for between Christmas and NYE. It would keep me in my festive cocoon… or so I had hoped.

Rather than being a novel, the book is an anthology of short stories, all set around the Christmas season. Again, this was just what I needed for my shortened attention span!

Unfortunately, the book didn’t meet my hopes or expectations. For me, it was full of inescapable cliches and somewhat annoying. I didn’t really find any of stories relatable or enjoyable. I may have just spent my last drop of Christmas spirit; I’ll maybe try another Katie Fforde book to form a more informed opinion as to whether or not they’re for me. Then again, I may not.

For me, a rare but honest ⭐️out of 5!

The story follows Tara, a very pregnant mum of 3, soon to be 4, during December! Her own mum unexpectedly lands back home, her husband is acting oddly and her kids are, well, being kids. Let the chaos commence!

I’m really pleased I opted to read this for my Christmas read. It was super funny, so grab a copy quickly to read over the festive period.

A ho! ho! ho! 🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻 Santas out of 5!
