This is the second Lisa Jewell book I’ve read this this week and I could not stop reading it! I know it’s a bit of a cliché to say “I couldn’t put it down”, but it’s the truth.

The Night She Disappeared is about a young mother, Tallulah, who fails to return home to her son after a night out. Her and her boyfriend never return from a romantic evening at the pub.

The novel is written from multiple perspectives, and the chronology chops and changes to make sure all of the “gaps” are full by the end.

The subplots intertwine perfectly with the disappearance of Tallulah and Zach. All of the characters brought in work seamlessly and the twists and turns don’t once feel forced.

I’ve since found another Lisa Jewell book on my TBR pile- as much as I’m desperate to crack it open, I’m having a break from psychological thrillers. Quite frankly, good thrillers leave me feeling a bit odd afterwards, so I need some space before starting The Family Upstairs! Maybe a Disney film or a light romance for balance.

Possibly the best book I’ve read so far this year? I’m going all out and giving this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Loved it!
