I discovered Jessie Inchauspé when I was first diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, and was frantically trying to learn more. Her social media feed is fantastic, so I couldn’t wait to read this book.
I’ve been at a bit of a stalemate with my diabetes and all things nutritional lately, including reading this book. I started it about a month ago and then ignored it for weeks. It was all about me being in denial rather than the book being anything other than informative and wonderful.
I picked it back up this week when I felt inspired and motivated, and I am so pleased that I did. So much of the science behind the book (Inchauspé is a biochemist so there’s real substance backing up what she says) makes perfect sense and gave me “aw, that’s why I feel like that” moments. These realisations were affirming, to say the least.
Like her Instagram, the book is jam packed full of explanations which are supported by loads of research and science, but all of which are accessible and interesting for those of us without the scientific know-how.
What I’ll say about the book is that it offers all readers 10 hacks that will improve how our bodies deal with glucose/produces insulin. It’s not a diet, it’s information. If you want to improve you energy levels, diabetes, PCOS, inflammatory issues, give this book a go. I also highly recommend following the author’s Insta- @glucosegoddess!
For how accessible and easy to understand the content of the book is, as well as the entertainment factor (it’s not boring at all) I am going to give this book a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review. I loved it and it will be a firm point of reference as I embark on my mission to put diabetes into remission.
