The Messy Reader verdict

Enlightening in parts, but ultimately repetitive

I bought this book after listening to Yung Pueblo on the Happy Place Podcast, and I found him very interesting. This book looks at his journey into deep healing after years of drug abuse.

Much of the book is enlightening and transformative, but it felt repetitive and clichéd at times. I'm on board with the writer's premise and ideals but it didn't, unfortunately, resonate with me as I expected it to.

This is a self-development book like many others out there. If you're after something revolutionary, this isn't for you.
