A biochemist's guide to 10 hacks that improve how our bodies deal with glucose accessible, science-backed, and packed with practical advice.
I discovered Jessie Inchauspe when I was first diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, and was frantically trying to learn more. Her social media feed is fantastic, so I couldn't wait to read this book. I've been at a bit of a stalemate with my diabetes and all things nutritional lately. I picked this back up this week when I felt inspired and motivated, and I am so pleased that I did. So much of the science behind the book (Inchauspe is a biochemist so there's real substance backing up what she says) makes perfect sense and gave me "aw, that's why I feel like that" moments. Like her Instagram, the book is jam packed full of explanations which are supported by loads of research and science, but all of which are accessible and interesting for those of us without the scientific know-how. The book offers all readers 10 hacks that will improve how our bodies deal with glucose and produce insulin. It's not a diet, it's information. If you want to improve your energy levels, or manage diabetes, PCOS or inflammatory issues, give this book a go. Rating: 5/5
