A fast-paced survival thriller full of secrets and deception, but one that ultimately felt predictable.
I think I have to accept that Freida McFadden's books just aren't for me. Despite their huge popularity on social media, I've yet to enjoy any of her thrillers, and The Crash was no exception, I'm afraid.
I'll give credit where it's due, it's an easy, fast-paced read, and I did finish it in a day. But beyond that, I found it predictable and lacking in suspense. The twists were obvious, and the characters were either irritating or completely unlikeable, making it hard to care about their fates.
If you're a fan of McFadden's writing style, you'll probably love this one. But if, like me, you've struggled with her books before, The Crash isn't likely to change your mind.
Rating: 2/5 Verdict: Predictable and forgettable.
