A warm, funny and heartfelt story about a group of everyday train commuters who form unexpected and life-changing connections.
"The People on Platform 5" by Clare Pooley is the kind of book that makes you want to strike up a conversation with a stranger on your commute! Full of warmth, humour and heart, it follows a group of everyday train passengers who, against all odds, form unexpected connections. Pooley's characters are brilliantly drawn, each with their own struggles and secrets, and watching them come together is both uplifting and deeply satisfying. The found-family theme resonated with me so much that this has easily become one of my favourite books. I adored seeing these characters break down barriers and form meaningful relationships, reminding us all of the power of human connection. While I did guess a couple of the twists early on, it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment ? this book is an absolute gem and one I'll be recommending to everyone! I think I will forever hold Iona up on a pedestal ? she is who I want to be when I grow up!
