Debbie's life is beyond unconventional, and the novel tackles mental health in a very real way. I'm amazed that this was Nealon's debut � it's so powerful and beautiful. It felt like a hug from a loved one after you've had a breakdown.
Some parts were quite uncomfortable, but that just gave nuance to the reality of growing up right now. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and highly recommend it.
